Operating principle

Contains 8 HF32F-G relays manufactured by Hongfa (Datasheet), with SPST contact configuration (two contacts per relay: NO/COM), each switching a corresponding output. The outputs are routed to screw terminals.

Current up to 7 A per channel. Depending on the hardware revision, each relay contact may be equipped with a varistor for overvoltage protection.

Installation

Module connection to the controller

I/O modules are connected to the Wiren Board controller or the WB-MIO interface converter on the right side via the side connector. Make sure all module pins are properly aligned with the mating connector.

Secure the modules on the DIN rail using end stops on both sides, but leave approximately 2 cm of free space for easy removal when needed.

You can connect up to 8 modules in total: up to 4 input modules (type “I”) and up to 4 output modules (type “O”). Exception: only one WBIO-AI-DV-12 module can be connected.

Addresses are assigned sequentially. You can connect up to 4 modules in any order. If connecting more than 4, group modules by type: connect all of one type first, then the other.

Load connection

Relays are connected in series with the phase conductor.

General information

After physically connecting the module, it must be added to the controller configuration:

  1. In the web interface, go to SettingsConfiguration files.
  2. Open the Extension modules and ports section and select the WBIO module (External I/O module) where the side-mounted WBIO module is connected.
  3. In the dropdown list Module type, select the type of the connected module.
  4. Click the Save button.

To remove a module, select the Not installed type.

Make sure the external module is visible in the web interface:

  1. Go to the Devices section.
  2. Find the Relays & FETs device (or Discrete I/O on Wiren Board 6 and earlier) for digital modules, or ADCs for analog modules. The channels will appear as EXTN_YYYY, where N is the module number and YYYY is the channel name.

The MQTT topic will be of the form /devices/wb-gpio/controls/EXTN_YYYY.

Module-specific features

Web interface appearance

Module controls in the web interface

In the Module type field, select the device WBIO-DO-RxA-8: 8 Channel Relay I/O module.

In the web interface, the relays will appear as controls EXTx_R3A1 to EXTx_R3A8 of the Discrete I/O device.

MQTT topic names: /devices/wb-gpio/controls/EXTx_R3Ay.

Unused output

One output on each side of the device is not used.

Device revisions

The batch number can be found on a sticker on the side of the case or on the PCB.
